Appointed at the head of the Union Camerounaise des Brasseries (UCB) in January 2010, Mr. AJEWOLE embodied the vision and values of the company in his unique way. It is under his leadership that the Quality Management System was put in place within UCB with the objective of making the brewery a major player in the Cameroonian industry.

 

Courage was indispensable to preside over the destiny of this company for a decade, given its challenges and an almost monopolistic competitive environment. It also took a lot of audacity to make managerial and strategic choices imposed by the quality approach, which led to the ISO 9001:2015 standard certification in December 2019. This is undoubtedly a key element of the legacy of this humble, affable and meticulous man who willingly lent his ear to employees without distinction and opened his office door wide to them. Some employees will remember the friendly and humorous exchanges with the late great man; others will recall his valuable advice and exhortation to believe in the fruits of one’s labour and to strive to do it well.

 

Creativity, leadership and determination were necessary to lead the Union Camerounaise de Brasseries towards change in a multicultural environment. And the results obtained during his tenure have proven it. He was the instigator of the Quality policy that took into account the vision & strategy of the UCB, while not only but primordial, the pursuit of operational excellence and the development of human capital.

 

Integrity, he drew from his strong Christian values which laid the foundations of his moral tenets that he preached to all who approached him. If it is true that our existence lies in the pages of the book, each of these pages is a chapter of the history of our life.

 

Mr. AJEWOLE’s life has come to an end physically but his memory will always be with us.

 

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
